My name is Pete LaMotte. I was born and raised in Charlestown, RI and currently reside in Hopkinton, RI with my family. I started in the tree industry in 1990 for Intrastate Tree Service out of Stonington Conneticut. I then transferred to Barlett Tree Service in Seekonk, MA where I became a licensed arborist in 1992. My employment with Barlett lasted about 10 years. During my time at Barlett I learned a lot about the field of arboriculture from experience and research lab classes that I attended in Charlotte, NC. Over the past 10 years I worked for various tree companies in the area broadening my tree knowledge and expertise.
Now I am co-owner of Southern 401 Tree Service INC. We have a great team focusing on top quality tree care, customer satisfaction, and very reasonable rates. I have enjoyed working locally in the tree industry an look forward to helping you in the future!
My name is Kenny Shields and I am co-owner/operator of Southern 401 Tree Service INC. I am a licensed arborist and have been in the tree business for over 15 years. I was born and raised in Wakefield, RI and attended South Kingstown High School. After high school I struggled to find a job that sparked my interest and kept my attention. After one day of work in the tree business I knew this was the profession for me. It is a hard working career that requires fast thinking and continuous learning.
Currently I reside in Wakefield, RI with my wife Alex, our son Colton, 3 dogs and pig Willow. We look forward to providing our customers with the best service around!
My name is Alex Shields. I am co-owner/business manager of Southern 401 Tree Service INC. I grew up in Narragansett, RI and currently reside in Wakefield, RI with my husband Kenny, son Colton, and our animals. I attended the University of Rhode Island graduating in 2008 with a Bachelors in International Business and minor in Italian. After graduation I worked in the jewelry industry for about 4 years, but decided it was not the right industry for me.
In September of 2013 with the help of my husband and Pete, we founded Southern 401 Tree Service. I realized that being a business owner/manager was the best way for me to utilize my education to the fullest. I am so excited to see the business grow and cannot not wait to speak with and meet all of our new customers!!
